Description:

Six members of a family, including three kids, were killed on Tuesday when their house was struck by lightning in northern Pakistan's Kohistan area. Family members of a local councilor Javed Khan were struck at 2:00 a.m., when they were asleep at Bisham, a town along the Karakoram Highway, connecting Pakistan with China, the NNI news agency reported. The bodies were swept away in flash flood, with four bodies later discovered from a nearby stream, and search for two remaining bodies was underway. Reports said that thunderstorm and heavy rains in the area have also destroyed several houses and standing crops. The period of July to September is the rainy season in Pakistan. Since end of June, Pakistan have witnessed many floods and landslides caused by torrential rains which claimed lives and generated losses of property across the country.
