Description:

A leaky propane tank outside of a North Seattle store prompted police and firefighters to shut down several blocks of Aurora Avenue North on Sunday night and evacuate 20 people from the area. The leak from a 500-gallon tank outside of Lowe's, 12525 Aurora Ave. N., was reported about 10:45 p.m. A forklift had dropped some material on the tank, rupturing a valve, Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said. Authorities closed several blocks of Aurora north of North 125th Street but started to reopen the road at about 12:15 a.m. As of press time, firefighters were still at the scene.
